Best Hotels in Paddington
Published 21 October 2026
Paddington is one of the most practical places to stay in London. The Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line leave from Brunel's great station, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are a few minutes' walk south, and Little Venice and the restaurants of Paddington Basin add canalside walks to the mix. It has never been a five-star postcode, but its hotels are stylish, characterful and good value next to Mayfair a mile or so east. These are the five we would choose. If you are planning around this part of town, our Bayswater, Lancaster Gate, Edgware Road and Queensway area pages are the natural next step.
Royal Lancaster London
Overlooking Hyde Park from Lancaster Terrace, the Royal Lancaster has been a London landmark since it opened in 1967, and the views across the park and the Serpentine from its upper floors are some of the best in the city. It has 411 rooms and suites, and was among Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice Best of the Best winners in 2026. Nipa Thai is its long-standing Thai restaurant, holder of the Thai government's Thai Select award, while the Park Lounge Bar and Hyde Café cover the more relaxed end of things. There is a 24-hour gym. Lancaster Gate station is right next door, and Paddington station is about six minutes' walk away.

Hilton London Paddington
Opened in 1854 as the Great Western Royal Hotel, built alongside Isambard Kingdom Brunel's station for the Great Western Railway, this Grade II listed building is one of London's original railway hotels, designed by Philip Charles Hardwick. Today it is the Hilton London Paddington, with more than 400 rooms and direct access to the station concourse, which makes it the easiest hotel in London for the Heathrow Express. A multi-million-pound renovation has brought Art Deco touches to the rooms and restored the grand Great Western ballrooms. Carriages is the restaurant and 146 Paddington is the bar, and there is a fitness centre for guests. It suits anyone with an early flight or a train to catch who still wants a building with real history.

Roseate House London
On Westbourne Terrace, one of Paddington's grandest streets, Roseate House occupies three Grade II listed townhouses built in 1842. It is the most elegant hotel in the area, with a calm, residential feel and individually designed rooms. The Hyde Brasserie and Cocktail Bar is the hotel's restaurant, and The Hyde Garden is a pretty spot for afternoon tea or a drink in warmer months. Paddington station is a few minutes' walk away, and Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Paddington Basin and Little Venice are all within an easy stroll. It suits couples who want a quiet, polished base close to the park.

Inhabit Queen's Gardens
Set on a white stucco garden square between Paddington and Hyde Park, Inhabit Queen's Gardens is a wellness-focused hotel with 158 bedrooms and suites decorated in calm, natural tones. Its restaurant is run by Yeotown, the Devon wellness retreat, and serves a meat-free menu that is good enough to win over carnivores. The Inhale spa offers treatments, and the whole hotel is designed to feel like a quiet retreat from the busy streets around the station. Its smaller sister hotel, Inhabit Southwick Street, a few minutes away, adds a yoga studio, meditation pod and infrared sauna. Hyde Park and Paddington station are both a short walk away.

The Pilgrm
On London Street, a minute from the platforms at Paddington, The Pilgrm is a 73-room boutique hotel in a restored Victorian building. The original staircase survives, and the floors are laid with 200-year-old reclaimed mahogany parquet, which gives the rooms real warmth and character. Check-in is online, with no front desk, which suits independent travellers who just want to drop their bags and go. Monmouth Coffee runs the ground-floor café, and The Lounge upstairs is a relaxed spot for a drink. The Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line are on the doorstep, so it is a smart choice for a short stay.
