Best Hotels in Earls Court
Published 28 September 2026
Earls Court has never been a five-star postcode, and it does not try to be. What it offers instead is a lively, international neighbourhood right next to Kensington and Chelsea, superb transport links and hotels that cost a fraction of those a mile or two east. The Piccadilly line runs straight to Heathrow in one direction and to Knightsbridge and the West End in the other. These are the five upmarket stays we would choose. If you are planning around this part of town, our Earls Court, Gloucester Road and South Kensington area pages are a useful place to start.
The Rockwell
A boutique hotel in a Victorian townhouse at 181–183 Cromwell Road, The Rockwell is independently run, quietly stylish and far better value than the grand hotels further east. Its forty rooms are understated and contemporary, from singles for solo business trips to Garden Rooms opening onto the hotel's walled garden and Mezzanine Suites for longer stays. The garden is its real asset, a rare bit of outdoor space on one of west London's busiest roads, and there is a bar and restaurant for a quiet drink before heading out. The south-facing garden is planted with bamboo and lit up at night, and you reach it across a glass bridge from the bar. In good weather, brunch and dinner are served outside.

Hotel Xenia, Autograph Collection
Also on Cromwell Road, Hotel Xenia is a 99-room boutique hotel in a converted Victorian townhouse, part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. The interiors are richly decorated, there are two bars and a restaurant, and the service is more personal than the size suggests. The Natural History Museum and the V&A are about fifteen minutes' walk away. The hotel takes its name from xenia, the ancient Greek idea of hospitality to strangers. La Terrazza serves Italian food, and the Living Wall Bar is a good-looking spot for a cocktail.

Hotel Indigo London Kensington
A short walk from Earls Court station, Hotel Indigo has more personality than most branded hotels, with a playful, manor-house-inspired design and individually styled rooms. It has an Italian all-day restaurant and deli on the ground floor, and its location puts both Heathrow and the West End a single Tube ride away. The restaurant is Theo's Simple Italian, from the respected chef Theo Randall, and the Barkston Bar and Lounge is a comfortable place to start the evening. The hotel is also dog-friendly.

Twenty Nevern Square
On one of Earls Court's prettiest garden squares, Twenty Nevern Square is a carefully restored Victorian townhouse with individually decorated, boutique-style rooms. It feels like a quiet retreat from the busy Earls Court Road a few minutes away, and suits couples looking for character at a sensible price. Breakfast is served in a bright conservatory, and there is a courtyard garden for warmer days. Earls Court station is about five minutes' walk away.

The Kensington Hideaway
On Kensington High Street, a short ride from Earls Court, The Kensington Hideaway reopened in 2026 under its new name, having previously been the Seraphine Kensington. It has 59 bedrooms, and its room categories are each dedicated to a writer with ties to Kensington, among them Thackeray, Agatha Christie, T. S. Eliot and P. L. Travers, which gives it more of a story than most hotels in the area. There is a 35-seat restaurant and bar, and it makes a comfortable, characterful base for a few nights in west London.
